Daniela Campello is a Senior Lecturer in International and Public Affairs at Columbia University. She holds a Ph.D. in Political Science from UCLA. Before joining Columbia, she was an Associate Professor of Politics and International Affairs at the Getúlio Vargas Foundation (FGV) in Brazil and an Assistant Professor at Princeton University. She was also the Edward Larocque Tinker Visiting Professor at Columbia’s Institute of Latin American Studies. She has been a Visiting Fellow at Oxford University and a Resident Fellow at the Wilson Center. Her research sits at the intersection of international and comparative political economy, with a particular emphasis on the political consequences of globalization in emerging economies. She is the author of The Politics of Market Discipline in Latin America (Cambridge University Press, 2015) and co-author of The Volatility Curse (Cambridge University Press, 2021). She is currently working on a new book project, provisionally titled Obstructing the Future: The Politics of Climate Policy in Brazil. Before entering academia, Campello worked as a business consultant at Accenture, a sell-side financial analyst at BTG Pactual, and a project manager for the Rio de Janeiro state government, overseeing initiatives financed by international financial institutions.
