Volker Boege│ Toda Peace Institute Panel Discussion │ 20 Feb 2024

February 20, 2024

Dr. Volker Boege discusses COP28, peace and the Pacific, focussing on the outcomes of COP28 that are of particular inmportance to both. COP 28 was a disappointment. It fell well short of what urgently needs to be done to tackle the climate emergency. The challenges of structural culture and epistemic violence, the challenges of low level localized direct violence in the domestic and community context were not dealt with; however it has to be welcomed that peace was a special issue at this COP at all.

This presentation was part of a Panel Discussion with an invited audience, recorded in Tokyo on 20 February 2024, and hosted by the Toda Peace Institute.
