Sharmaarke Abdi Musse is a researcher, environment and natural resource management expert and lecturer, based at the University of Hargeisa, Somaliland. He has a broad portfolio of advisory work and consultancies within these fields. He is part of Pastoralist Climate Change Resilience in Somaliland project, a research project funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark/DANIDA. He has worked at National Disaster Preparedness and Food Reserve Authority of Government of Somaliland as the capacity of Director of the Department of Planning and Research, where he also formerly worked as consultant. Sharmaarke worked as lecturer at the Department of Agriculture and Environment, Amoud University, Somaliland. He was part of a group of environmental and socio-economic researchers who conducted environmental and social impact studies for various giant developmental projects implemented in Somaliland.
