Emelia Caliskan is an Environmental Science and Law student at Macquarie University (Sydney, Australia). In early 2020 she completed her six-week internship at the West Coast Environmental Law centre in Vancouver, British Columbia. During this time, she made contributions to; the Guide to Coastal and Ocean Protection, draft climate change accountability policy for the Federal Canadian Government and the RELAW programme designed to revitalise Indigenous Law for land and water. Emelia is a member of the Macquarie University Sustainability Society (MUSS) and held the role of president for two years (2018-2019). During her presidency, MUSS together with Macquarie University was a nominee at the Green Gown Awards Australasia (2018). Emelia is a current volunteer at National Parks and Wildlife Service (NSW, Australia) and works to protect an endangered population of Little Penguins (Eudyptula minor).
