Dear Friends of the Toda Institute and Members of TIAC,

We hope the year 2009 was a productive and fruitful one for you, and that the last weeks of December will provide you with an opportunity to put the finishing touches on your many activities. It is already time to start planning for 2010.

To complete 2009, the Toda Institute held a conference on The Power of Dialogue in a Time of Global Crisis at Soka University in Tokyo on November 21-23. The participants had an opportunity to rediscover that the power of dialogue is indeed profound, and that further explorations of this topic are urgently needed in order to help humanity cope with, and hopefully avert, some of the worst effects of the planetary crisis we are now facing. We would like to remind you of the call for papers for Peace & Policy 15 on “Music for a Universal Consciousness of Solidarity,” with a deadline for abstracts of 15 January, and the full paper due on 15 April. More information can be found here.
